APRILIS Mourvèdre Rosé 2021 This amazing Mourvèdre rosé was born of exceptional circumstances as it resisted the frost of April 2021. It grows on the 1st geological terrace of the foothills of the Larzac plateau, the historic heart of Languedoc ! Soil: rounded stones and gravel, some red clays.. Grapes: 100% Mourvèdre. Harvest: hand picking, late September, early October. Production: 40 to 45 hl/ha on average. Vinification: pressed juice, natural decanting in cold conditions, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation thanks to native yeasts followed by a spontaneous and partial malolactic fermentation. Maturation: a few months ageing in tanks. Natural decanting thanks to cold winter temperatures. Bottling: at the wine estate, without fining or filtration in order to keep the structure of the wine unspoiled.
Eye: a distinct pink colour, clear and bright Nose: a bouquet of red berries: redcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberry... Palate: a rich and unctuous wine, both fresh and mineral, with flavours of red berries (redcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberry...) and pink grapefruit... Ageing Capacity: to be drunk when young – ageing potential of 2 to 3 years Serving Temperature: chilled 8 to 12° C Food & Wine Suggestions: can be drunk at all times, for “apéritif”as well as with vegetarian, Mediterranean and oriental dishes (paëlla, couscous, tajines...), barbecues, salads or fish such as tuna and salmon... An enjoyable wine to be appreciated all year round ! |
